Carl Zeiss Docter-Wetzlar Apo-Germinar 750mm F14.5 Prototype Lens in Copal #3 Shutter (SN: #2)

• Prototype lens

• Limited use

• The most advanced lens design in the history of large format lens making

• Produced before Docter completed the change over to their own name, these lenses were assembled as proof of concept, and mounted in the only readily available #3 shutters

• Probably the rarest of the modern ULF lenses

• The only other comparable lenses to this are Schneider's XXL Fine Art series, which are equally rare

• This one (being one of the two prototype lenses of this model) is the rarest of them all

• Only a handful of these were ever made before Docter closed their doors

• Lots of online info about how these came to be

• Massive coverage

• This lens is lightly used, tested and working as it should

• Cosmetically, this lens shows very minor (if any) signs of use

• Clean glass

• Glass has minor internal dust/artifacts (will not affect image quality)

• No fungus, haze, scratches or other major issues to note

• Factory-mounted shutter is in good working condition and fires nicely on all speeds

• Shutter does not include a custom aperture scale (we can provide a hand-marked scale, or you can mark your own)

• Includes a retaining ring and both original caps

We have lens boards for most cameras in stock, just ask.
