Ilex Caltar 305mm F6.3:
The 305mm is a normal-angle of view lens on 8X10 (similar to a 50mm lens on 35mm cameras). This is a more modern production of the venerable Kodak Commercial Ektar 12" F6.3 lens, the design of which was bought by Ilex when Kodak pulled out of the lens-making business. This lens has the distinction of being one of the world's first CAD lenses ever made. Utilizing modern glass coating and modern manufacturing capabilities, this lens is an improvement of the all-time classic Ektar lens. This is a hidden gem, with excellent sharpness and contrast. Shutter is working as it should and fires nicely on all speeds (speeds sound correct to the ear). The lens is mounted in a genuine Deardorff lensboard.
