Deardorff V8 8X10 camera w/ front swings + 305mm lens + Holder + Fresnel #2189

One of the last Deardorff bodies to be made in Chicago, dating to the late 1974, sold to Helix camera in Chicago. Made with the latest style of hardware and fittings. Most importantly, this camera has the newer style bed plate which is more stable and will not split. All hardware is in excellent condition. Upgraded ultrabright ground glass/fresnel combo with clear overlay protector glass. • Made of Honduran mahogany wood, finished in high gloss
• Massive bellows draw (32"+)

Camera Condition:

• This camera is used and in good working condition
• Cosmetically, this camera shoes normal signs of use with some patina, scuffs and dings as you would expect from a used 50+ year old wooden camera
• All levers, knobs and locks are present and work as they should
• All tensions, friction and damping work as they should
• Bellows is tested, light tight
• Ground glass is brand new, clean and clear

Schneider G-Claron 305mm F9:

• 305mm is a normal angle of view on 8X10 cameras (similar to a 50mm lens on 35mm cameras)
• Modern, coated, apo corrected, compact glass with massive coverage for extensive movements
• All black copal shutter fires nicely on all speeds
• Cosmetically, the barrel of the lens shows some wear, with marks/scuffs
• Glass is clean, no fungus, haze or scratches
